The 1987 Porsche 959 S is a more powerful, limited run rendition of the 959 supercar developed and manufactured by Porsche.

Production by Karosserie Baur ran from 1986 to October 4, 1988 with only two hundred ninety-two road examples being produced, of which twenty-nine were "Sport" examples.

Development of the "Sport" came about when Porsche set out a plan with Porsche Motorsport North America to produce a Porsche 959 "Race Versions" - examples specifically designed for the track and intended to be not street-legal to sidestep the U.S. regulations. PMNA announced on October 16, 1987 they would be taking orders for twenty-five examples, of which thirty orders were received and twenty-nine were fulfilled.

The "Sport" is fitted with larger turbochargers with increased boost pressure, adjusted fuel injection and ignition timing, a roll cage, an "S" steering wheel, and coil over suspension in-favour of the ride height levelling suspension system. The electric leather seats were replaced with four-point harness cloth seats, as well as removing the electric windows, air conditioning, central locking system, rear seats, and the right-hand side wing mirror to save 100 kg (220 lbs).

Although the track-focused rendition was not intended to be street-legal, an example was tested by US government agencies at the Nazareth Speedway when the first ten examples arrived in the United States. The agency deemed the track-focused examples were still obviously intended for road-use and were not federalised.

Imports to the United States were impounded until Show or Display amendment in 1999, which was pursued by Bill Gates' legal team upon his 959 "Komfort" being impounded upon arrival in 1987.
