The 2022 Porsche Taycan Turbo S (966) is a high-performance variant of the first generation Taycan developed and manufactured by Porsche.

First revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 14, 2015 as the Mission E concept car, Porsche's first production electric vehicle was revealed nearly four years later on September 4, 2019 at the 2019 International Motor Show Germany. Shown as the Turbo and Turbo S, they went on sale in early 2020 alongside the 4S, with the Performance Battery following in 2021 and the GTS being released in 2022.

It is marketed as Porsche's electric counterpart to the 911, a sports car design with over 50 years of motorsport pedigree and development heritage, and is often referred to by Porsche as their link to future success of the brand.

At the time of its reveal, it was one of the most powerful vehicle sold by Porsche, allowing for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.8 seconds as electrical power from the batteries is sent to two motors - one fitted to each axle - to form an all-wheel drive system for impressive traction and acceleration.

Developed as a four-door sports car, it has a 93.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack weighing 630 kg (1389 lbs) allowing for up to 413 miles (665 km) of range, which is achieved through the use of a 2-speed automatic gearbox - with first gear setup for acceleration and second gear having a longer ratio to improve efficiency at speed - and the one of the lowest drag coefficients of any Porsche model.

The active suspension management systems - PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) and PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control) - help control the body roll through adjusting damper settings, and spring rates through four optional driving modes: Range, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus.

On April 11, 2022, Lars Kern beat the lap record for a production electric car around the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7:33.35 using a Turbo S. The previous record of 7:35.579 was set by Andreas Simonsen on September 9, 2021 using a Tesla Model S Plaid, which had taken the record previously set by Lars Kern of 7:42.34 in August 2019 using a Taycan Turbo. The record stood for 14 months before being beaten by Tom Schwister with a record of 7:25.231 using a Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package.
