Power Struggle is a Hot Pursuit event featured in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and it is a racer career event.
In Hot Pursuit (2010), the event is unlocked by beating Twin Turbo, while in Hot Pursuit Remastered, it is unlocked by beating either Twin Turbo or One of Five. It can be accessed from the East Gorge Canyon racer node on the career map, and is an Exotic Series event.
Route[]
The event starts heading west on Boulder Road. The racers make their way through the Boulder National Park and towards the following junction, where they turn right onto Memorial Highway. They make their way down the entirety of this motorway, before turning right at the following junction and continuing down South Face Drive. The finish line is located towards the end of this road.
Briefing[]
"You're outnumbered, but not outgunned. These desert cops may be aggressive, but they aren't prepared for the likes of you. You should have no trouble taking them out as you duel to the finish."

The player is given two Turbos, four EMPs, four Spike Strips, and two Jammers.

The player's choice of racer vehicle for this event is limited to two Exotic Series vehicles:
- Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
- Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (Hot Pursuit Remastered only)
- Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Edition (Hot Pursuit (2010) only)
Racer Suspects[]
There is only one racer opponents participating in the event, who will drive the vehicle the player does not select. They will drive either a yellow Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 or a silver Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Edition. In Hot Pursuit Remastered, the latter is replaced with a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
SCPD Units[]
Two SCPD McLaren MP4-12C Speed Enforcement units will be engaged in pursuit from the start. Two additional units will enter pursuit at the visitor centre on Boulder Road (9.6 and 9.5 miles remaining). Two Bentley Continental Supersports Speed Enforcement units will engage in pursuit at the start of South Face Drive, from the petrol station (3.6 miles remaining). Additional units will engage in pursuit if the previous units are taken out. These units will use EMPs, Helicopter Support, Roadblocks, and Spike Strips.
