Pushing the Envelope is a Gauntlet event featured in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and it is a racer career event.

In Hot Pursuit (2010), the event is only available with the Super Sports Pack. In Hot Pursuit Remastered, the event is unlocked by beating Wild Ride. It can be accessed from the Memorial Valley racer node on the career map, and is a Hyper Series event.

Route[]

The route starts heading south on Silver Creek Road. The racer passes the town of Eastwood and continues down the entirety of this road, before turning left onto Three Points Road. The route continues down the two long straights, passing the Bleach Flats Airfield and the Infinium Array. At the following junction, the racer continues on the East Gorge Freeway. The finish line is located towards the end of the motorway.

Briefing[]

"They say that the best defense is a good offense. Whoever said that wasn't in possession of the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Who needs to go on the offensive when you can leave the cops choking on your dust?"

The player is given two Jammers and six Spike Strips.

The player's choice of racer vehicle for this event is limited to the Hyper Series Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport.

SCPD Units[]

An SCPD Gumpert apollo s Special Response unit will be engaged in pursuit shortly after the race begins, after the hairpin turn past Eastwood. A Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport unit will enter pursuit at the Infinium Array on Three Points Road, and another one on East Gorge Freeway. These units will use EMPs and Helicopter Support.
