The Rhino Van is a fictional police vehicle.
Need for Speed: Payback
The Rhino Van appears in Need for Speed: Paybackas a police unit utilised by the Fortune Valley Police Department as a means of heavy force during pursuits.
Description
They are SWAT Vans that will attempt to pin and immobilize the suspect by ramming into them head-on at full speed. When they spawn, there will be a warning stating, "Rhino Incoming!" Before they ram you.
Unlike the other FVPD units, they cannot be taken down.
They only appear in a handful of Runner missions, as well as the Abandoned Car missions.
Trivia
- It appears to be based on the Lenco B.E.A.R. SWAT Van.
- This is the second time a SWAT Van appears in a Need For Speed title. The first being Most Wanted 2012.
- They have a similar behavior to the SUV Heavyunits in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005), Need For Speed: Carbon, and Need For Speed: Undercover, and the Ford Explorer units in Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2012).
- Jess uses a Rhino Van to take down the helicopter in the mission Skyhammer.
