The 2004 Saleen S7 is a mid-engine, high-performance sports car designed and built by Saleen.
Unveiled in 2000, the S7 is constructed of a steel spaceframe, aluminium honeycomb panels with carbon fibre bodywork, and is powered by a Ford-based V8 7.0 litre engine, giving the car its model designation.
At 160 mph (257 km/h), its aerodynamics produce downforce equal to its weight, which is enough to theoretically drive upside down.
In 2005, the engine was fitted with a twin-turbocharged system, as well as an upgraded body visually recognisable by its spoiler/diffuser aerodynamic package. Production would continue until 2009, with the S7 also competing in GT racing as the S7R.
