The WRX STi debuted in the North American market with different specifications than its European and Japanese counterparts. Instead of the 2.0 litre EJ207 flat-four, it was released with a newly designed 2.5 litre version codenamed EJ257. In addition, it borrowed a high number of parts from the JDM Spec C model.
The 2004 STi is commonly referred to as "blobeye" by enthusiasts. It was replaced by the "hawkeye" model in 2006.
Need for Speed: Underground 2
The WRX STi is one of the fastest cars in the game, in terms of acceleration and top speed, but also has a slightly worse handling rating than similar cars such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII.
