Car unlock in the U.S. version[]
Which patch does the article reference when claiming that the car can be unlocked in the U.S. version? The cars 'CORSA' and 'PEUGOT106' are absent from the U.S. disc, and 'CIVIC' and 'RSX' are absent from the other disc likewise. The v1.2 patch only includes Frontend/FrontB.lzc and speed2.exe, but does not improve any cars.
To drive a locked car, the car data must be present, as well as the correct version of speed2.exe. Any cars that the player already has purchased will remain in their garage irrespective of the game version, as long as those cars are installed on the hard drive.
