The 2.5 Sport features various differences against other Roadster models including carbon-fibre panels, an altered front fascia to reflect newer Tesla models, improved seats, interior sound proofing and additional control options.

Production for the Roadster ended in 2012 after Tesla exhausted their supply of gliders developed by Lotus.
