"The Only Way to Go Is Up" is event #19 of Underground Mode in Need for Speed: Underground.
It is offered after the player beats event #15: "Jail Break" alongside three other events:
- Event #16: "Style Guide"
- Event #17: "New Kids in Town"
- Event #18: "A Glowing Reception"
Winning all four events allows the player to proceed to event #20, the fourth tournament of Underground Mode: "Saturday Night Drive".

Jose invites the player to a circuit event with the #10 spot on the Circuit Rankings leaderboard up for grabs.
