"Upload" is a Campaign Story mission in Need for Speed: Heat.

It is the fourteenth mission of the Campaign Story, and the first mission of chapter 4.

Ana, Lucas, and the player are all fugitives of the High-Speed Task Force after their run in with Frank Mercer the previous night. With only a laptop they can't access being their only means of avoiding the corrupt cops, the player seeks help from Roshni to get around the password protection.

Completing the mission will progress the player to "Breaking The Law", the second mission of chapter 4 and the finale of the Campaign Story.

Prerequisite

Before the player can start the mission, they must be at REP LVL 23 or higher and have completed the previous mission from Ana: "Party Crashers".

The mission recommends the player use a car with a 280 performance rating or higher and a grippy setup for on-road.

Port Murphy Beach

"Get help from Roshni."

Location

The start location for the mission is on the beach near Port Murphy.

Synopsis

The player has to seek help from Roshni during the day.

The player gets in contact with Roshni but she's a little apprehensive to talk to the player as every cop in he city is looking for them. They tell Roshni they've got a password protected laptop that can expose Mercer and put him away for years, which quickly changes Roshni's mind and she sends the player a means of accessing the laptop to their phone.

The player passes this software onto Ana.

Roshni What are you doing here? Player I need your help. Roshni Well I don't need this kind of heat. Every cop in the city is looking for you. Player That's because we've got a chance to take them down! We've got a laptop full of evidence that will put Mercer away for decades. Trouble is it's password protected. Roshni Is that all? Hold on... I just sent you a package. Put your phone near the laptop and it should have it unlocked ion a couple minutes. Player Wow - thanks! Roshni Just be sure to make this stick. If you can take down those cops you'll be doing us a favor. Now get out of here. Ana Any news? Player I'm sending you some software to unlock the laptop. Just put your phone next to the machine and it should open it up automatically. Ana Okay, got it.

Objective

The player has to reach Ana and Lucas in Edgewood Valley within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Route

The route leads northwest from Port Murphy through Fairview Fields and into Edgewood Valley.

Failure

The player will fail the objective if they do not reach the Mall in Edgewood Valley before the timer expires.

Synopsis

Ana has successfully unlocked Mercer's laptop allowing her and Lucas to access the files they need for evidence against Mercer. Although they have unlocked the laptop, a hardware tracker has also been activated and given the location of Lucas' hideout to the Palm City Police Department.

As Ana and Lucas try to buy more time with the laptop, they tell the player to meet up with then at the old shopping mall in Edgewood Valley, but time is quickly running out as the police close in.

The password screen's gone - I can see a bunch of folders! Yes! You're a genius! Player Well, not me, I just know a genius... Lucas Now we dig out the right files and take this computer to the press as evidence. Those TV news people are gonna love this! Ana Hold on - what's this... It says there's a program running called 'PD Hardware Tracker'. Is that one of yours? Player I don't know - I don't think so. Dispatch All units. 3-15. We have a location for the suspects in the Lieutenant Mercer assault. Proceed to North Cloudbank immediately. Player You hear that? Ana They're tracking the laptop. Lucas We gotta move. Leave it here! Ana No! Change of plan! We hot the road with the laptop and buy enough time to email the files to the press. Meet us at the old Mall!

Dispatch All units, suspect vehicle is a red Porsche heading South from Cloudbank into Edgewood Valley. Jackson Copy, Control, taking up pursuit. Warren Copy that, Control, joining pursuit. Dispatch Jackson, Warren - that you? I thought the Task Force never came out in daylight. Jackson Pulling an extra shift just to take down these animals.

Objective

The player has to defend Ana and Lucas in the red Porsche as they work through the laptop.

Route

Ana leads the cops west through Edgewood Valley, north through Fort Callahan, and into the quarry in Rockville.

Failure

The player will fail the objective if Ana's health reaches 0%.

Synopsis

The player has met up with Ana and Lucas as the cops are bearing down on them. With them in Lucas' Porsche 911 Carrera S '97, the player must defend Ana and Lucas from any pursuing cops until they can find enough evidence on the laptop to take down Mercer.

Synopsis

Lucas has sent evidence of Mercer's activities to the local news via email. With the laptop no longer being useful, he tosses it out of his Porsche and leaves it to Ana to escape the current pursuit.

As Ana and Lucas leave the quarry with several cops in pursuit, Eva Torres emerges from the back of the pack. She notices the laptop at the side of the road and breaks off from the pursuit to investigate it, but finds it to be severally damaged.

"A disgrace to the uniform"

Synopsis

A special report by WFFL86 shows Frank Mercer has been suspended from duty following Lucas' emailed evidence of the High-Speed Task Force's chop shop.

Although Mercer has been suspended, he has gone missing and the Palm City Police Department is urging him to come forward for their investigation.

Reporter Tonight's main story: 'A disgrace to the uniform,' as senior police officer goes on the run. Lieutenant Frank Mercer, head of the city's controversial High-Speed Task Force, has disappeared after being suspended for alleged corruption. The suspension follows the discovery of leaked documents sent to our very own WFFL News team. While the PD has refused to discuss the allegations, this reporter understands that they relate to extortion and large-scale theft in the street-racing scene that Mercer was supposed to police. In a statement, the department said: "Lieutenant Mercer is aware of his suspension and we appeal to him to come forward and assist the investigation." In other news...

Completing the mission rewards the player with 22,500 and 10,500.
