The 1985 Volkswagen Type 2 (T3) is the third generation of the Type 2.

It is marketed as the Transporter or Caravelle in Europe, Microbus in South Africa, and Vanagon in the Americas.

The 1979 to 1985 model years feature round headlights and steel or chrome-plated bumpers with plastic end-caps. With a rear engine layout, the T3 is powered by an air-cooled flat-four engine from 1979 to 1983, at which point Volkswagen switched to water-cooled engines.
