The Volvo Amazon 121 (P130) is a mid-size car produced by Volvo from 1956 to 1970 and was offered as a four-door saloon, two-door coupé, or five-door estate.
Entering production in 1956, the Amazon was introduced as a 121 four-door with a 1.6 litre inline-four engine with the P120 body code. In 1958, it became the first car to offer three-point front seat belts as standard with its following introduction to the United States in 1959 as the 122S.
In 1961, a new 1.8 litre inline-four engine was fitted as a replacement for the 1.6 litre engine and the two-door coupé design was made available. In 1962, the 120 body code was replaced with the 130. The 123 GT was introduced in 1966 and the 2.0 litre inline-four engine was included for the 121, as well as the 122S, in 1968 before production ended in July 1970.
